Capstone Assessment

Q Assignment Content 1. Your Capstone Assessment should include assignments from EDAD 602, 604, and 606. (If you did not take these courses in the sequence, you will be provided alternate instructions.) These experiences will reflect your required and elected field experiences for the class. For EDAD 606, you will add a fourth chapter to the document. Here are the guidelines for this chapter: Chapter 4. THEORY OF Action This chapter will be based on the work completed in EDAD 606. You will develop your theory of action. Provide an introduction here describing what will be included in this chapter and a brief overview of your practice problem. Chapters will look different as you each work toward different goals in different contexts. o Provide some background (you can use the above information and links) on theories of action. o Describe your process for developing your theory of action. o Describe your intuitive theory of action. You can do this as an if-then statement. If I (or the team) do ____, ____, and___, then teachers will do ____ and ____, then students will do ____, ____, and____. o Describe how you confirmed that theory of action in the research. o Describe how you collected additional data and what that data told you. (This will be the second capstone assignment.) o Describe your theory of action including inputs, activities, outputs, outcomes, indicators, rationales, and assumptions. Confirm your rationales and assumptions with research data. (Particularly, effect size when possible.) TEMPLATE FOR CHAPTER 4 IS AT THE END OF THE NOTES. Delete Chapters 4 and 5 from the current template and replace with these directions. My note about the data being a second capstone assignment was confusing to some of you. If you have not collected any data or the data is not available yet, you can add the data section later. If you already have the data, please go ahead and include it.

According to Wallace Foundation (2011), the responsibilities of a principal include: establishing a high-standards-based vision of academic success for all pupils; fostering an environment that is conducive to education, where safety, cooperation, and other elements of beneficial contact are the norm; fostering leadership among others to enable educators and other adults to play their respective roles in achieving the school's goal; managing people, data, and processes to promote school improvement and improving instruction to enable instructors to teach at their best and students to learn at their maximum potential (Fiore, 2016). According to Robinson( 2011), “[t], the most powerful way that school leaders can make a difference to the learning of their students is by promoting and participating in the professional learning and development of their teachers” (Bloomberg & Pitchford, n.d.).
